In response to Prop L, which illegalized sitting or lying on sidewalks, Sadie and performed this ritual. I outlined her body with pennies as I explained to women who sold ice-cream and curious kids that each penny represented 100 homeless people in San Fransisco. There were 7,600 pennies.
